Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

The Houston Livestock Show and rodeo began this week in Houston.

They have many top stars performing again this year. From Toby Kieth to Mary J Blige and well as Selena Gomez, most music genres are represented by top performers this year.

There is a carnival for the children opening at nine am each day.

The livestock show is unrivaled with exhibits and competition from commercial breeders as well as 4H and FFA chapters through out the southwest. Many types of animals are represented from cattle, hogs, sheep and horses to rabbits, lamas and alpacas.

Proceeds go toward college scholarships for students as well as other charitable causes. There is ample parking both on site and in remote lots with shuttle service.

For out of town visitors, Houston has many affordable hotel deals during the Rodeo.

The Houston Restaurant scene is very competitive which make for availability of some world class cuisine.

Come for a visit to the country without leaving the city.
