Frequent Flyer Miles Expiring?

Are your frequent flyer miles expiring soon? Well, there is something you can do about it. Most frequent flier programs will allow you to keep your miles from expiring if you make a deposit to or a withdrawal from your account.

A deposit can be earned in many ways. If you earn points on a credit card such as American Express, you can transfer points to your airline account usually once every 1-2 years depending on your program.

If you ever rent a car or stay in a hotel, you can make sure you earn miles instead of other type of points.

There are also online surveys where you earn credits. These credits can be redeemed for frequent flier miles. I am on one survey list that pays 1-8 points/survey. They each take for 1-20 minutes to complete. When you get 25 points, you can redeem points for 1000 miles.

Most airlines now also have links on their sites to allow shopping at stores like Best Buy, FTD, Circuit City, etc. You earn miles for purchases made there.

Another method is to use one of the airline versions of I dine where you earn airline miles for meals in restaurants. You register with their website and then list your credit cards with them. After that, every time you eat at a participating restaurant and pay with one of the registered credit cards, you are credited with a certain number of miles /dollar spent on food.

Any of the above listed methods should keep your frequent flier miles current. Of course, you could just use them to go out and get lost somewhere
